Who We Are
Serving Nebraska Homeschoolers Since 1986
The NCHEA is a volunteer, non-profit organization founded in 1986 whose mission is to encourage and support Christian families in the education of their children at home in accordance with Biblical principles (Proverbs 22:6 and Ephesians 6:4) and to support the rights of Christian parents to homeschool their children.
The NCHEA was founded in 1986 under the name Nebraska Home Educators Association. In 1993, the name was changed to Nebraska Christian Home Educators Association (NCHEA) to more clearly define the association’s fundamental principles and its mission to serve Nebraska Christian homeschooling families.
The NCHEA was a non-profit 501(c)(4) organization for many years. The NCHEA was recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation in November 2018. As a non-profit 501(c)(3), donations / gifts to the NCHEA are tax-deductible.
Homeschool Parents Who Volunteer
NCHEA leadership is made up of volunteer parents who support the NCHEA’s Statement of Faith and Statement of Position. The Bible and its principles serve as the foundation on which the leadership functions.
The NCHEA encourages and supports Christian families in the education of their children at home. It also seeks to defend their homeschooling and parental rights by monitoring legal and political issues on the state and national levels.
